Meet Nonni
Nonni is an Italian American grandmother with a joyful spirit, a kind heart, and a lifelong love of children, animals, nature, and storytelling. She believes some of life’s greatest treasures are found in nature—in the song of a bird, the flutter of a butterfly, or a hungry caterpillar slowly chomping its way through a leaf. With warmth, humor, and a curious heart, Nonni encourages children to join her in exploring, creating, and dreaming of possibilities.
My Story
Greetings! I'm so glad you stopped by. I'm "Nonni" (Grandma)—at least that's what children call me, and I love being a Nonni!
I'm also a retired Registered Nurse and the mother of five amazing grown children. My greatest passion is holistic living. I enjoy cooking, sewing, crafting, and gardening. In fact, some of my happiest memories are of spending time in the garden with my young grandchildren, planting and watering, making fairy gardens, or just discovering the wonders of nature together.
One quiet spring morning, while sipping tea in my garden, I found myself thinking about those memories, and wondered about other children. Children I've never met.
What if I could share that same sense of wonder through letters to children who I don't know? What if I could invite those children to discover the beauty in nature, celebrate the joy of learning, and remind them that even life's challenges can hold lessons of hope?
Those thoughts soon blossomed into Letters from Nonni™.
Through my letters, stories and activities, I encourage children to create, imagine, and explore the natural world around them. My hope is that every letter reminds them they are loved, nurtures kindness and gratitude, and inspires a lifelong sense of wonder.
